Carter, with all his faults, did not lead people to a false religion. He was bad for our country, but we survived it. We don't know that yet. Carter's undermining of the Shah of Iran gave us the resurgence of islammunism in the world that is this country's number one struggle. Shoehorning the Ayatollah into power in Iran was Carter's biggest mistake, in a Presidency chock full of them. It was the only one that Ronald Reagan was unable to fix.
