Ahhh, so this is why some Catholic clergy takes a vow of poverty.
I dont believe I ever preached a message on money, he said. But I do believe
God can want you to have a better house. God wants you to be able to send your kids to college.
I’ve come up with a new slogan for my herbal pills that will compete against viagra and cialis, “God wants you to have a bigger, longer lasting...”

IIRC, a new synagogue would start when there were 10 families in a city. Since these ten families paid tithe, plus other offerings, the rabbis salary would be the average of his congregation.
In the midwest that may mean working for 20,000 per year. On the coasts, that may mean scraping by on 100,000+.
Larger churches also are known for better stipends to traveling evangelists. A love offering is usually much different when coming from 1,000 folks than 10 folks.

The article also mentioned T D Jakes. He takes no salary from The Potters House and donates (I heard) over a million per year. He also pays taxes on his earned income.

I haven't the slightest problem with a clergyman making a "living wage"..being able to support a family in a reasonable fashion. But I do have a problem when they're driving Rolls Royces (or even BMWs) and are vacationing in the South Pacific.
There's something "un-God-ly" about that.

Yes, but the elections are closing in fast and the need to bash "mega-churches" and their pastors, bishops, and flock by the MSM is getting into gear.

“Rick Warren, pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, Calif., became a reverse tither...”
Of course, Warren is still the Antichrist, right folks? Tommy Dale, where are you?
To: BlabItGrabIt
The numbers of visits by politicians to The Potters House is staggering.
And the MSM only complains about white conservative politicians attending church.

This is not the whole story.
The pastor from Waco conveniently forgets to include living in the house provided for him by the congregation.
That’s worth quite a bit of $$.
However, pastors like Hinn, etc. that have a salary that large present a huge stumbling block to a lot of people, IMO. Jesus’s warning about the camel and the eye of the needle should be heeded by these folks. In addition they will be held to a higher standard than the rest of us.
HHC’s husband.

It has been established in past threads via quotes from Rick Warren himself that he is
reverse tithing mostly to his own organizations. In other words, he is reverse tithing back to himself. Gee, what a saint.

Not spending it on himself though, is he? No fancy house, no fancy cars, no fancy clothes. Yet still you have nothing good to say for the man.

And the MSM only complains about white conservative politicians attending church. Complains?!! More like an unbridled assault.
With Osama Binrrack taking the Potter's House, World Changers, et al's away from Mrs. Clinton looks like Fat Freddie Thompson will be selected to be our President....
