All this sex going on, then there MUST be huge awards out there against protestants far exceeding this judgement against just the LA Diocese of the RCC.

Also, there’s no comparison between homosexual molestation of kids and adolescents, and a heterosexual fling between adults.

The difference: homosexuality is an abomination according to the bible.

Either way they're all lies. None of those idiotic accusations are substantiated. You're right, of course. The payouts would be enormous. And yet they don't exist.

The few RC voices on this forum denouncing the RCC lies and cover-ups and protection and advocacy of homosexuality have been rare, but most welcome. Those are the voices who will stop this disease, if it can be stopped.

The priesthood is no longer dominated by the homosecuals. There is testing of seminarians, and if the get through that and other conclusions are drawn by supervisors, then they are kicked out of the seminary.

Very often, the seminarians themselves kick them out by making the life of the homosecuals quite miserable.

**there MUST be huge awards out there against protestants **

As far as I know, Catholics don’t take joy in another’s misfortune. Instructions of Christ himself.

**Those are the voices who will stop this disease, if it can be stopped.**

It is already being stopped, thanks to Pope Benedict and inspections of all seminaries.

No one is "taking joy" in any of this "misfortune."

But to even call these terrible sins "misfortune" is to diminish it ...again and again and again.

the john and ken show on kfi am 640 today

made the point that roger maphony will probably stay

because 70% of the catholic church in los angeles is

latino, and they support maphony.

maphony got his start up in the valley with cesar chavez,

and maphony supports illegal immigration.

I sure hope you’re right, S. I’m looking forward to the day when we have this all cleaned up and the lavenders will hate us more than ever because we won’t let them in our ranks. We’ll be hated like the BSA, only seventy times seven as much.

None of us around this site defend Mahorny and we’d like nothing better than for God or the Pope to call him home. These payouts by the church with money THAT IS NOT THEIRS makes me ill — I’m rather starving the church with my donations because I want to give enough to help them stay in business, but I don’t trust funding them for mission.

His days are numbered. We have mandatory retirement.

I heard their show yesterday. They were livid. One of the plaintiff's attorneys was on and he was livid. And all three men were ex-Catholics.

They called Mahoney a "sociopath."

One thing is certain, when Mahoney reaches 75, he WILL have to retire, regardless of who supports him, it is mandatory. Pray that the Pope will find a good and holy man to be then the new Archbishop.

Under the settlement each victim will receive about $1.3 million for treatment and therapy. All of this money to keep Mahony off the stand so he would not be forced to testify about what he knew about the scandal and what he did, or didn’t do, in response.

To date the church has paid out over $2 billion for its pedophile sins so far with more payments to come.

[.. Those are the most absurd, unsubstantiated lies I've ever read on this forum. ..]

Since the RCC priests are usually abusing RCC kids and young people, first.. Any denial is an abuse wish.. Hard draconian truth should be used instead..

One only wonders why this expose' is mostly limited to the United States.. It could be much worse in countrys that rarely or barely record and report child abuse.. like MEXICO, central and south America.. and Canada.. in this hemiphere..

In most of Africa being sexually abused as a child or adult is one their lesser problems.. as amazing as that sounds..

Actually, no, it is not. When a Bishop reaches 75, he has to tender his retirement to the Pope, but the Pope can choose to leave him in office past his 75th birthday.

Anecdotally, I suggest that such statatistics are meaningless, because they ignore the practrice in the protestant denominations is not to report offenders but to get them out of town. However, the abuse I have onserved in these denominations tends to be heterosexul. I agree that the whole scandal is owing to ther trap that the Church feel into in the 1970s when it lowered its standards to admission to the priesthood generally and the “gays” flocked in, warnly welcomed by the gay priests already there, who had a field day while orthodox priests were demoralized by the shattering of the traditional image of their vocation.
