The bible says nothing about the pope, that’s the whole point.
Given as much as protestants ignore what the Bible clearly states on Headcovering, the role of women in the church, and numerous actions expected by the faithful it seems odd that the protestants would refute the notion of Bishops, who are mentioned in the Bible btw.
I’d say the point is more that the Protestants have 1000s of recipes for Bible Translation, and they play Bible Buffet with the results.
The word “Bible”; Etymology: Middle English, from Old French, from Medieval Latin biblia, from Greek, plural of biblion book, diminutive of byblos papyrus, book, from Byblos, ancient Phoenician city from which papyrus was exported Date: 14th century, isn’t found in the Bible. Neither are the words Trinity or incarnation.
The Bible also doesn’t mention a whole bunch of things that Protestants cling to as well. Still worshiping on the first day of the week? Celebrate Christmas on Dec 25? Believe in the Trinity? Accept the Bible as the Word of God? Seems that you owe your allegiance to the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
C’mon over. However much you protest, the truth will set you free.
The Bible doesn’t mention Protestants either.
