I am in a unique locale - to the east is the Syracuse Diocese and south the Scanton Diocese - we often go to either one for a break from our own.
Clark ordained two this year.

I get the Rochester Speaks pronouncements all the time - if you mention Rome or the Pope they roll their eyes. Ditto here in Albany, home to Rochester's Bishop Clark's fellow seminarian, Bishop Hubbard. Birds of a feather ... and all that.
It is painful for us to watch so many Catholics walk away from their church and turn to the Evangelical Churches for guidance and direction, all because of the actions of these bishops over the past 30+ years. They are in my daily prayers!

The scum also rises. What is that supposed to mean?

My MIL is hoping to live long enough to see the rebirth of the diocese after Clark goes. She smiles when she speaks of it.

It won’t be long now before the process begins.
It’ll be a long process though.
I’ve been told that the problems didn’t start with Clark, that Bishop Sheen even had a difficult time keeping liberal elements in check while assigned here.
I don’t know how they would even begin.

We had Catholics leave and open their own church. We lost to non-denominational churhes, and all other churches in the village. It all started when the Bishop sent us a new priest who did not like Charismatics and was hell bent on removing kneelers and the Lord from the church. It’s an empty hall now. If you wish to visit Jesus you go to an anti-room walk through. I do not genuflect upon entering the pews, what would I be genuflecting to? No crucifix either. I hear the Bishop loved it.
