You know that baptism and the eucharist are recognized as sacraments in most Protestant churches.

The evidence is otherwise.

No doubt some will return for various reasons.

The evidence is that the vast majority will not.

Once one has a vibrant, POWERFUL, more or less face to face contact with Almighty God in the here and now . . .

dry husk forms of religion—just do not remotely measure up any more.

And dry husk religion is in all denominations and in almost all congregations.

I generally think that competition, even at the religious level, is healthy. Personally, it wasn't until I experienced some protestantism, that I came back to the Church with vigor and an orthodoxy I never new existed in me.
