"Shut up, Anoreth, or I'll make you wear a dress and high heels and a lace veil made from the dining room curtains."

LOL. Once upon a time my brother and I were invited to spend the weekend with some friends. They told us that we would be going to church on Sunday. No problem! I took along a nice black dress and heels. I had forgotten until I saw them dressed up that their church required women wear "head coverings"

The only thing I had was a half finished tatted doily I was making. A couple of snips and a few bobby pins later and I was "church compliant". But my brother never let me forget that I once went to church with a small table cloth on my head....

(The difference between a doily and a table cloth was lost on him.)

That’s FUNNY!

I have a brother like that. In fact, I have two brothers like that! Still!

I often wear a scarf for church, due to my unfortunate hair issues, but the lace-curtain look is the Thing in the Traditional Latin Mass community. We usually have the dining room curtains tucked up on the rods anyway, to keep Vlad from pulling them down.
