On Easter, the Paschal Candle is lit from fire blessed in the Easter Vigil ritual known as "The Blessing of the New Fire."This year, I was given the job of laying the fire. During the Thursday night homily, Father mentioned gathering around "the bonfire" on Saturday so I built a good one. Not exactly a bonfire but big enough. The wind was whipping around a little bit on Saturday, so he had to be somewhat cautious blessing the fire, those vestments are flammable.
