I hope your cathedral doesn't have a "Communion Chapel".
In my reading of this document, a communion chapel is preferred over placing the tabernacle in the center of the sanctuary, UNLESS the tabernacle is already (still) in the center.
This was a big let-down for me.
What's a "Communion Chapel" - is this a place for daily masses, or is it just for reservation of the Blessed Sacrament?
Cathedrals, because they are busy and have a lot of traffic, have often had special side chapels (long before Vatican II) for the Blessed Sacrament. Usually, of course, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and there is Benediction in the evening.
