You've maintained we read different Bibles on this thread, and I'm beginning to believe you.

Does your Bible contain 1 Corinthians 2:16?

"For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ."

Does your Bible contain these verses?

"Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin." -- Romans 4:7-8

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you." -- Ephesians 4:32

"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses" -- Colossians 2:13

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him." -- James 5:15

"I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake." -- 1 John 2:12

But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." -- Hebrews 10: 12-14

Excellent points.

But when one rationalizes the flushing of . . . everything but what's in one's theological mirror . . .

all manner of perfectly sound SCRIPTURE can be rationalized away.

Until, of course, one stands eye ball to 'eye ball' with Father God.

Thank you. Of course, we do. My Bible has Isa 55:8-9 that says For "My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD. "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts".

With all do respect to the Apostle, our minds are not those of Christ, as I am sure +Paul did not mean it that way.

He used a quote from Septuagint, Isaiah 40, which, in context, reads like this:

Obviosuly, Paul used it in a different context, attaching a different meaning to it.

There is nothing in the original (Isaiah) that would suggest we have the mind of God.

But what is REALLY fascinating, the Jewish (Hebrew) bible doesn't even have the word 'mind' in verse 13!

It says "Who meted [measured] the spirit of the Lord, and His adviser who informs Him?"

So, now not only is Paul quoting from a different Scripture (Septuagint OT) while you read the Hebrew version, and not only is the conext of the quote completely different of 1 Cor 2:16, but your version doesn't even have the word "mind" in it.

Isn't reading Scriptures with a mind more fun?
