Plus, phrases were changed or added/deleted by Luther in their Bibles so that when they quote from it, they discuss from an incomplete reference.

that's true. they didn't simply truncate Holy Scripture, they did indeed change and suplement as well. it's a worthwhile distinction.

Only in the original edition of Luther's German New Testament. The original phrases were restored to later printings and to the first edition of the German Bible.

None of our current English translations rely on Luther's work, anyway.

A priest from my church explained that Luther removed some of those books because they mention either Purgatory or indulgences. Just now, I forget which. But it was one of the excesses that Luther was fighting so he banned the books.
