LOL!
It's so filled with distortions that all I could do was laugh. ::::Off to go worship Mary now::::: =)
"Help me out here ... is this the Monophysite heresy, the Arian heresy, or one that I've forgotten?"
Nestorian heresy?
I guess I am only the mother of my children's skin and bones as well. They have a soul that came with the rest of the package...but I must not be the mother of that part of them.
people confuse the term "mother" with "create"
I'm not aware of the misconceptions and falsehoods in the post...
Maybe you can explain them...What about the 'fish hat'...I have no idea of the origin of the fish hat...No one in the NT wore a fish hat, or gold, or robes...Certainly not Peter...
No one in the bible bowed down to Peter (and got away with it) and kissed his feet, or his ring, or whatever you guys do...It's just not biblical...
So, let me get this straight: We, gratuitously and falsely attacked,on the Lord's Day, (those Protestants calling themselves Seventh Day Adventists: excuse me, this is for the sake of argument only) with lies, should turn the other cheek and gently point out the error of those who come at us with slander and anything but gentleness? We're guilty until we demonstrate our innocence?
I'll play this game: We do not believe and never have believed that one can buy God off. Sure SOME Catholics may have believed it, but it was never official teaching. Some Protestants, after all, think sex is intrinsically evil (Some ignorant RCs too) and I have heard one say that sexual intercourse was original sin, but I have never claimed that Protestants, as a class, believe that.
Now I grasp the magic 8-ball in my hand and turn around three times (not omitting to worship some saint or other and generally bowing down to a stock, or possibly a bond, of wood) and the mantic deamon comes upon me and tells me that this clarification will be met with outright denial, in the form of,"Well, what about this or that practice? What about Tetzel, what about blah blah?"? And when, if I should have the time, I deal with that, someone else will say I am "parsing".
And when I finally lose my patience at dealing with this passle of lies, I will be told I am not gentle.
My personal opinion is that if you want to attack the RC church, the way to start would be to find out what she says of herself. Then your attacks would not be seen by her members as being SO very wide of the mark as to exhibit culpable negligence.
**Good grief, at a time when the Christian church worldwide must confront both Islamofacists and secular progressives, the last thing it needs is bashing of certain branches of the Christian family tree branches by other branch members or churches.**
Absolutely. Will repeat it!
(I even wondered if the author was a member of the ACLU and trying to do away with all religion???)
You already know the answer to this question.
"good grief, sounds like he has been infected with the JackiusChickus virus...."
LOL!!
Ahh that great man of wisdom....Jack Chick!
There won't be any fireworks over an article this stupid.
Scott Hahn, Peter Kreeft and Dave Armstrong on the net are a few suggestions.
I'll check them out...I know many former Catholics who converted to Protestantism...But none who converted to Catholicism...
I suspect they have a week belief in the bible but I'll check them out...

The Way of the Lord is not an easy Way, but it IS the ONLY Way.
Read the links at post 28, then get back to me.
"I suspect they have a week belief in the bible but I'll check them out..."
If you truly read Scott Hahn's story, you will eat those words.
Wow. The only thing that I can say, as a Catholic convert from Protestantism, is that the writer seems to have a lot of issues with the Church.
I feel sorry for him. He's missing out on a lot.
Call to Battle Ping!
**week belief**
Does this mean the believe for only seven days?
Yes indeed. Week by week. In my case, and the case of many others, day by day as we attend Mass or read our "office". And today I was assigned a penance of .... wait for it ... reading the Bible more, and I EAGERLY accepted! PLEASE don't throw me in that briar patch! ;-)
DO check Scott Hahn, bearing in mind that most conversion stories are written by the young and still somewhat bemused. And be careful that you don't put yourself in a circular argument trap. It's easy (btdt) to assume and then to hide the assumption from oneself, that being RC necessarily implies a "weak" belief in Scripture -- and then, having brought that into the cave with you, you find that it is there in the cave. It's VERY hard to stand back, I find.
