DO check Scott Hahn, bearing in mind that most conversion stories are written by the young and still somewhat bemused. And be careful that you don't put yourself in a circular argument trap. It's easy (btdt) to assume and then to hide the assumption from oneself, that being RC necessarily implies a "weak" belief in Scripture -- and then, having brought that into the cave with you, you find that it is there in the cave. It's VERY hard to stand back, I find.
I have the online Douay-Rheims bookmarked on my toolbar, and it took a lot of investigation to realize there was a (relatively recent) name change!
