I don't understand why an article about abortion that happens to feature a Reformed Christian Pastor is a caucus. If it happened to feature a Catholic priest instead, it would be ok to say Catholics only? So if any article features a Catholic priest in any context, it is ok for a caucus designation? Could you please clarify this in context of this specific article?

What about those posters who argue against the designation Protestant?

It seems to me that the point of this article has nothing to do with Reformed Christianity as a denomination / Church. (Pardon my ignorance if Reformed Christian is another word for Protestant.)

I frankly don't see the need for a caucus designation anyway. There's not much that's debatable between Protestants and Catholics on the matter of abortion. Maybe contraception as a preferable alternative to abortion, but that's not a topic of this article.

Color me stumped.

Because I don't want non-Protestants coming in and potentially bashing this Pastor. It is a way for Protestants to discuss abortion from our perspective, not the Catholic pov.

Thanks in advance.

Any caucus of posters on the Religion Forum can use an article to shore up their own views on an issue whether theology, ideology or politics.

We may be seeing more of this as the primary elections draw near and certain areas of the map are dominated by certain confessions wanting to speak with a single voice on an issue.

"Reformed Christian" may be descriptively employed for either:

Oh, and perhaps another reason is that on a truce was requested and a Catholic called us bloody heretics."

Bloody is a vulgar word and shouldn't be tossed around when a pleas for peace are being considered. Until the RCs police their own, I would like to have a thread where we Proddies can discuss our issues in peace and quite.

Thanks in advance for following the RMs rules.
