The bishops need both the criticism and the prayers, especially when they fail to teach or tolerate liturgical abuse. The two are not mutually exclusive, as the author suggests.
I dislike these "Saint Francis did X, so no Catholic should ever do non-X" arguments. By that logic, we should put down all our guns and "dialog" with the jihadists.
There are many ways to practice authentic Catholicism.
