Fr. (former Representative) Robert Drinan, S.J., who celebrated Pelosi's Mass died tonight of congestive heart failure and pneumonia, Boston TV is reporting.
Senator Ted Kennedy hailed him as "one of the finest people ever to serve in Congress."
I'm sure Kennedy will miss him. Drinan was one of his spiritual enablers.
This is very strange. I am sure the archbishop can see that this sort of thing is intolerable.
No, he can't. He's blinded by his party membership.
Watch the MSM play down the role of Father Drinan in making abortion acceptable to Catholic politicians and their followers.
Actually, I suspect that press may even emphasize it. They were jubilant about having Drinan subverting Church teaching all those years, and all the followers of Drinan are proud of having learned the "personally opposed" mantra (one of his inventions - talk about evil Jesuitical double-speak!). And I bet they're even prouder of having it tacitly approved by the bishops, including the current holder of the DC seat.
My real question is how Abp Wuerl is going to respond to this, if questioned about the man. Or maybe that's where the MSM will discreetly draw the line.

Sad to say I think Archbishop Wuerl will be silent on Father Drinan's support of abortion.I hope and pray I am wrong.
Pro-life bump.
"Fr. (former Representative) Robert Drinan, S.J., who celebrated Pelosi's Mass died tonight of congestive heart failure and pneumonia,..."
An evil man has died.
We should pray for him.
Fr Drinan's death was announced yesterday.
I had forgotten that he was the celebrant at Nancy Pelosi's Mass of Political Triumph. He was also the priest who taught Mario Cuomo and other faithless Democrat politicians how to get around the Church's teachings with that famous phrase, "I'm personally opposed to abortion, but. . . ."
Actually Nancy Pelosi doesn't even pretend that she's personally oppposed, these days. She is filled with hubris.
One never can second-guess Providence, but I have my suspicions. The death of Father Drinan shortly after celebrating the Pelosi Mass reminds me of a blasphemous baron during the time of the Norse invasions of England, who swore a false oath and shortly afterward choked on a communion wafer and died. I misremember his name, but it was a true story.
Naturally, the Globe had a glowing hagiography of Father Drinan, S.J., today.
Well, among things, Pelosi is going to need a new clerical adviser.
LOL, a true silver lining.
May all future Pelosi chaplains and would-be clerical pro-choice enablers be forewarned.
I hope the Church gets tough on those enabling abortion and socialism.
