I found it interesting that the article stated that the reason Catholics record high numbers of new enrollments is because they count baptized babies. Protestants, in most cases, would only count people who become official members of a church. For example, my wife and I are not official member of our church and not included on the totals, whereas my son is. I would also hasten to add that every church we have ever attended does a very poor job at the rolls, with people being on the rolls who no longer attend and people attending who are not on the rolls. I suppose it MIGHT balance out.

If Catholicism was growing to the extent you claim it is, then they wouldn't be closing and consolidating parishes. Instead, they'd be building more cathedrals.
