They think the priesthood is gender neutral. Unconsciously they get this because they approach the matter from the protestant tradition. Protestants have no sacerdotal priesthood, no class of Christians set aside by priestly chism.Role in theie chgurches are based on a division of labor. A minister is basically a teacher of Scripture, and either a man or woman may be a teacher. A pastor is a counselor and/or administrator. and a counselor may be a man or a woman.
