Dear Friends,
Today, December 17, 2006, the vestry of St. Margaret’s Church voted to receive and confirm the tellers’ report of the special Parish Meeting of December 10-17, 2006. The resolution, endorsed by the Vestry, called for St. Margaret’s to sever its ties with the Episcopal Church and affiliate with the Convocation of Anglicans in North America in the Anglican District of Virginia. Further, a second resolution asked the vestry take all necessary actions to bring all our property with us into the Anglican District of Virginia. The vote of 89% of all eligible voters passed both resolutions. The first resolution passed by a vote of 118 yes to 34 no and the second resolution passed by a vote of 127 yes to 25 no.
The results were announced at a special press conference on Sunday December 17, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Truro Church. I attended that press conference along with your Senior Warden, Bill Harding and your Junior Warden, Charlie Martin.
What this means, in the short term, for St. Margaret’s is simply that we will have a new Bishop with oversight responsibilities for us. The Rt. Rev. Martyn Minns, the Missionary Bishop of CANA will assume oversight of our church for all matters related to Episcopal jurisdiction. Further, I will remain the Rector and will be received as a priest in the Convocation of Anglicans of North America. Our name will be changed to “St. Margaret’s Anglican Church” and we will continue to seek to “know Christ and to make Him known.” Worship will go forward on Christmas Eve, and beyond at our current site and we will use the Book of Common Prayer for worship. We will still be Anglicans – only in a new branch of the Anglican Communion.
I will be sending a letter to the church and posting more information about these changes in our life on this website over the next few days, so I encourage all who are interested in knowing more about the newest Anglican Church in Woodbridge to check back to our site, give us an email response and please pray for us. For our part, we will continue to pray for our whole family. Our center is still Jesus Christ.

Great news! I'm really glad to hear that St. Margaret's is remaining faithful to Christ.
I attended there some in 1986-87 with some wonderful friends who helped lead me to the Lord.
The new pastor, Rev. Brown, is formerly from Apostles in Fairfax.
