I just watched the Mass. It was very touching - just this small group of people, their little choir, the priests obviously so pleased to see the Pope among them... Very lovely.
Made more moving because Fr. Santoro referred to them as such in the letter that he sent to Pope Benedict: "Holiness: I join these three women to truly invite you to visit us. It is a small flock, as Jesus said, which tries to be salt, leaven and light on this earth. A visit of yours, even if brief, would be a consolation and encouragement. If God wills
nothing is impossible for God."
Yes, I watched the replay, too. What a consolation from God for the faithful who live in Turkey! A relatively intimate Papal Mass and to receive Holy Communion from Benedict XVI! I'm in no position to know, but I have a gut feeling that Benedict enjoyed this Mass more than the usual Papal extravaganzas he celebrates.
