Christ Our King! Now and Forever!Homily by Father Louis J. Campbell
25 October 2006 A.D.
"Qui legit, intelligat" - "He who reads, let him understand"
"Every nation, and every ruler, and indeed every human being, every bishop and every pope is therefore bound to recognize and accept the authority of Christ the King over nations and peoples. St. Paul, in his letter to the Romans, speaks of '
Jesus Christ, through Whom we have received the grace of apostleship to bring about obedience to faith among all the nations for His name's sake
' Any nation, which does not acknowledge the Kingship of Christ and His legislative power, any nation which does not give 'obedience to faith' is therefore illegal - and that means just about every country in the world right now. They are in disobedience to God. Some of then give 'lip service' but they ignore His commandments and follow a secular humanist philosophy, making laws accordingly. They belong instead to the Prince of this world."
Note: "....The Feast of the Sovereignty of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Supreme King was set as the last Sunday in October by Pope Pius XI's encyclical Quas Primas the full contents of which we make available to the reader in this issue. In the following sermon, Father reminds us what Pius said that there can be no peace until we have sought with our whole mind, our whole body, our whole soul the Social Kingship of Jesus Christ in all nations. There is no peace because there are no more Catholic States. The modern state has taken over as Atila Sinke Guimarães confirmed in his article this past Monday in how Catholic Doctrine undeniably opposes the Modern State. There must be a Catholic State, but, as Fr. Louis points out, since the death of Pope Pius XII this "Glory of God" has been ignored in favor of the glory of man.
Sunday we honor Christ our King, and pledge Him our obedience through this Holy Mass, in which He Himself offers the one, true, holy and acceptable sacrifice to God the Father. The Feast of Christ the King was established (as you may know) by Pope Pius XI, decreed in his great encyclical, entitled Quas Primas, of December 11, 1925, to be celebrated by the Universal Church each year on the last Sunday of October. Situating the Feast at this precise point within the Liturgical Year was important, because it tells us that Christ is King here and now, King of all nations, Ruler and Legislator, whose authority must be recognized by all earthly powers. As Jesus Himself said to His disciples, as He was about to ascend to the Father: "All authority in Heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go forth and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
Pope Pius says in Quas Primas:
-
"When we pay honor to the princely dignity of Christ, men will be reminded that the Church founded by Christ as a perfect society, has a natural and inalienable right to perfect freedom and immunity from the power of the State; and that in fulfilling the task committed to her by God of teaching, ruling, and guiding to eternal bliss those who belong to the kingdom of Christ, she cannot be subject to any external power
Nations will be reminded by the annual celebration of this feast that not only private individuals but also rulers and princes are bound to give public honor and obedience to Christ
His kingly dignity demands that the State should take account of the commandments of God and of Christian principles, both in making laws and in administering justice
"
Pope Pius also states: "
it is a dogma of faith that Jesus Christ was given to man, not only as our Redeemer, but also as a lawgiver, to Whom obedience is due." To deny this would then be to deny the rights of Christ the King and His Church, and to fall into heresy. "It is a dogma of faith."
In support of this, his holiness quotes Pope Leo XIII :
-
"His empire includes not only Catholic nations, not only baptized persons who, though of right belonging to the Church, have been led astray by error, or have been cut off from her by schism, but also all those who are outside the Christian faith; so that truly the whole of mankind is subject to the power of Jesus Christ." (Annum Sacrum, May 25, 1899)
Every nation, and every ruler, and indeed every human being, every bishop and every pope is therefore bound to recognize and accept the authority of Christ the King over nations and peoples. Blessed Apostle Saint Paul, in his letter to the Romans, speaks of "
Jesus Christ, through Whom we have received the grace of apostleship to bring about obedience to faith among all the nations for His name's sake
" Any nation, which does not acknowledge the Kingship of Christ and His legislative power, any nation which does not give "obedience to faith" is therefore illegal - and that means just about every country in the world right now. They are in disobedience to God. Some of then give "lip service" but they ignore His commandments and follow a secular humanist philosophy, making laws accordingly. They belong instead to the Prince of this world. There has been a worldwide revolution against God and His Anointed One, Jesus Christ, even as announced prophetically in Psalm 2:
- "Why do the nations rage and the peoples utter folly? The kings of the earth rise up, and the princes conspire together against the Lord and his anointed: 'Let us break their fetters and cast their bonds from us!' He who is throned in heaven laughs; the Lord derides them. Then in his anger he speaks to them; he terrifies them in his wrath: 'I myself have set up my king on Sion, my holy mountain!'"
God the Father Himself has given all power and authority to the Son, and has made Him King.
We must also say that religions which do not acknowledge the authority, and divinity, and Messiahship of Christ the King are false religions, for which we can have no respect whatsoever, even though we do respect their adherents and pray for their conversion.
With the pontificate of John XXIII, who 44 years ago, having finagled the papal throne, made his appearance on the balcony of St. Peter's on October 28, 1958, a dramatic change occurred in the Catholic Church - everyone has to admit that - there was a radical departure from previous Catholic teaching. The papal writings became man-centered, stressing man's dignity, his rights and freedoms, and the brotherhood and equality of all men - ideas which betrayed the influence of freemasonry. Roncalli's successors would follow the same line. Roncalli's mission was to set up some mechanism to entrench the idea of freedom of conscience within the Church, recognizing the right of everyone in the world not to choose the truth revealed by God, but to choose falsehood - to choose a false religion instead of the one, true religion, which everyone is called to choose in obedience to faith. That mechanism was the second Vatican Council.
Vatican II and the conciliar church were to go directly against the encyclical of Pius XI by recognizing the autonomy of earthly states and governments. "Let us break their fetters and cast their bonds from us." The conciliar church does not want any Christian States nor any Christian legislation. Countries once called Catholic have been instructed by the Vatican, with the authority of John Paul II, to disestablish the Catholic Church, with the result that all man-made false religions have equality with the one true religion revealed by God. There are no more Catholic countries.
Pope Pius XI had stated in Quas Primas:
-
"If we ordain that the whole Catholic world shall revere Christ as king, We shall minister to the need of the present day, and at the same time provide an excellent remedy for the plague which now infects society. We refer to the plague of secularism, its errors and impious activities
The empire of Christ was rejected (he means by the secular authorities). The right which the Church has from Christ Himself to teach mankind, to make laws, to govern peoples in all that pertains to their eternal salvation, that right was denied. Then gradually the religion of Christ came to be likened to false religions, and placed ignominiously on the same level with them."
Well, little did the pope know that the Church itself ( i.e. the conciliar church ) would disavow its own doctrine and throw itself at the feet of the powers of this world - the latest instance, for example - John Paul II apologized to China.
The authority of Christ being thus denied, the Feast of Christ the King became an embarrassment. The solution was to relocate it on the last Sunday of the Liturgical Year, just before Advent, and that's just when it is celebrated in the "novus ordo". The message is that Christ is King in eternity, but we no longer have to recognize His dominion over the nations as Ruler and Legislator. Man could now have absolute autonomy and not have to give an account for his actions to anyone but himself. Man has become Superman. Of course, as such he plays directly into the hands of the devil, who is, in the words of Christ, "the Prince of this world." His minion - the Antichrist - will soon come and will be completely possessed by him (the devil). Humanity, led by the apostate "world church" will bow down and worship him.
Blessed Apostle Saint Paul has a warning in his Epistle to the Romans for those who do not recognize the authority of God and His Christ: "And so they are without excuse, seeing that, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give thanks, but became vain in their reasonings, and their senseless minds have been darkened. For while professing to be wise, they have become fools, and they have changed the glory of the incorruptible God for an image made like to corruptible man and to birds and four-footed beasts and creeping things." ( Romans1:21-23)
"While nations insult the beloved name of our Redeemer," says Pope Pius XI, "....by suppressing all mention of it in their conferences and parliaments, we must all the more loudly proclaim His kingly dignity and power, all the more universally affirm His rights...."
"Thus by addresses delivered at meetings and in churches, by public adoration of the Blessed Sacrament exposed and by solemn procession, men unite in paying homage to Christ, whom God has given them for their King. It is by a divine inspiration that the people of Christ bring forth Jesus from His silent hiding place in the church, and carry Him in triumph through the streets of the city, so that He whom men refused to receive when He came unto His own, may now receive in full His kingly rights."
Long Live Christ the King!
