Mar 27 2003 - Andrew, Amy and Anna DiMaggio
We have heard from so many people world wide about the picture, we still can't believe it.
The story about the picture goes like this, my wife took Anna outside to take some pictures of her in her new dress. As she began to take the pictures, the batteries in our digital camera died. They came in and Amy said that they could only get one picture because of the batteries. I told her that we have lots of batteries and replaced them for her while they went back outside. After I gave the camera to Amy, Anna walked up to the statue and began talking to Our Lady. She would talk for a while with her hands up, stop and wait for Our Lady's answer before talking again. After a few minutes, their conversation was over and Anna went back to playing.
Now she does not only talk to Our Lady, but stops and kisses Her goodbye before we leave in the morning.

wow!
Picture worth ten thousand words bump!
What a wonderful photo. Thanks!
Look at those chubby little legs and feet! I could just bite her. =D
O Mary, Help of Christians,
You who are there
to hear our cries,
You who work so hard
to bring us home to your son,
covering us with your mantle
through the storms of life,
Immaculate,
pure,
yet willing to hear our cries.
we, who turn to you sinful, sorrowful,
in such need of help,
and are never turned away.
Thank you, Mother,
for always saying yes to God,
for being willing to love us,
for being willing to be there in our need,
for interceding for us with your son,
for being our mother.
Hail Mary, full of grace,
blessed are you among women,
blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus.
Ave!
It brings back memories of my daughter when she was a child. There was a statue of the Blessed Mother outside our Church. Each Sunday, she would walk over to it, look up at Mary, carry on a conversation, bend over to pick up a dandelion or pretty pebble and deposit it at her feet. These memories are so precious and cherished.
My daughter used to have conversations with "the pretty lady with golden hair" who sat in a tree outside her bedroom window . . .

What a lovely remembrance. The parents in this story were so lucky to get a picture, but memories such as yours last forever. :)

She really is a cutie, isn't she?
Rapunzel ;-)?
She doesn't remember any of the conversations - she was very small, just barely talking.
a family I know has a 4-year old daughter who says she talks to Mary every day. Her favorite activity is to go to her room and pray for the people she meets. She is a miniature contemplative.
When she was two, her mom got pregnant again. They asked her if she wanted a brother or sister. She told them the baby will be a boy, he will be born on such and such date, and what name they will give him. Everything went exactly as she said. They were all amazed.
Recently, they had another pregnancy. They asked her again if the baby will be a boy or a girl, what the name would be, when the baby would be born, etc. She never gave an answer, she only looked away. they miscarried a couple days later.
-this is just precious. Check out the pic and the story.
Wow! Ask her to pray for me and my husband! Seriously!
Oh, how cute! My kids used to talk to a portrait of General Bedford Forrest.
(I guess they don't have fire ants where they live; I wouldn't let a baby go outside barefoot.)
Remarkable. My youngest daughter once told a church nursery volunteer that she (Sally) was going to have a baby brother on Christmas Day. I said, "No way!" because I wasn't pregnant at the time, but sure enough, the brother was born on December 22 - she only missed it by 3 days.
My oldest daughter predicted a brother pre-conception, too.
I have no doubt God talks to little children.
LOL! I live in fire ant territory, and I agree. Walking across the lawn wearing sandals is like announcing a Fire Ant Feast.
But this little girl looks like she's definitely giving a few messages to Our Lady, who is no doubt as always ready to hear them.
No, it must have been the previous daughter, because Sally would have been too young.
