Father John Corapi, in what might be his last recorded series (he hinted he would retire from lecturing ministry) was plain when he said the attack on the priesthood was demonic and aimed to deny the laity of the Bread of Life. He was clear about this. The attack had many prongs and included the recruitment of unfit priests and Bishops but the net result was to deprive us of the Eucharist.

Wow! This is one episode I must have missed. Do you recall the name of this series? or the date? This is one series I will definitely purchase. Merry Christmas, NYer :-)

I don't know why anyone would want to do a driveby attack on an organization without identifying him or herself (and what religious faith to which he/she belongs).

That's just cowardly.

Yeah! Just like female teachers now have a reputation for pedophilia, right?

What a jerk.

Well, there are over 1 Billion who do, so maybe you are missing something. I wonder what would make you post this statement--other than to start an argument. I will pray for you.

Please, don't. Pray for someone who needs it, brother.

Not a brother, I am a sister. I truly believe that everyone is in need of prayer, for some reason or another. Don't worry, I won't pray for your conversion or anything.

###"I don't know why anyone would want to belong to an organization that is celebate (celibate), excludes women, and has a reputation for pedophilia."###

My point is that your bias is showing with such inaccurate statements.

Take a look at NYer's
post.

You can pray for me. Some egos are just too big to "Become as little children".

Discuss the issues all you want, but do NOT make it personal.

You have overlooked one more thing: If you know a young man who you think could be a good priest, tell him so. It might be all that he needs in order to begin to listen for God's call. It's entirely possible that he may never become a priest, but on the other hand it's also entirely possible that he just needs that little bit of encouragement.

very true -- not only for future vocations but present ones as well. Vocations can be fragile, we have to encourage our priests -- and pray and make sacrifices for them.

From personal experience, I believe that it is of the utmost importance to pray and make sacrifices for priests, and especially those who have the responsibility of a parish with all the demands that are made on them.

The life of a priest is difficult, but also extremely rewarding and few lay people are privileged to have an insider's view of both of these aspects in the life of a priest.

The sheer number of public school districts makes accountibility hard. There are more than 10,000 different local educational authorities. Offending teachers are simply let go without specific charges and they go to work for another district.

I worry about these nuns, and when articles like this insist the people find Christ in the congregation not in the Eucharist...ummm...sounds like a clan not a church...

And why no deacons?

Alas, too often the priest shortage is due to lax shepherds.. at least this was true when I lived in Minnesota...who is the bishop?

And many people in these rural communities travel 40 miles every week to shop at Walmart, but complain if they have to go ten miles to mass...what's wrong with this picture?

I think this is part of the series called "End Game."

http://www.fathercorapi.com/End-Game---Attacks-6-Talks---221DVDS-P149C0.aspx

I'm not certain because he has two series running on Saturday evenings and they flip back and forth. I'm not sure if it is this one or the other. Check out his SOLT home page. I think this talk was definitely a more than 4 part series and it was the final talk of the series.

Note that 2007 is his LAST speaking year. He is wrapping up his speaking just as he said. One of the last appearances is in Hamburg, NY. Is that far from you? Check his speaking schedule for more info.

Wow. You're in way over your head. You should probably go back to DU.

BTW, learn how to spell 'celibate'.
