You are talking out of two sides of your mouth here. You say that you support Roe Vs Wade, but you are only for it for medical reasons, rape and incest. Then you turn around and say you believe it is a choice women must make for themselves. Face it! You have a VERY liberal view on abortion.

Question, what would happen if you didn't take Plan B?

How many birth control methods are out there already?

How has condoms, sex education in schools helped the prevention of teen pregnancy?

How does this make it more likely that those who prey on underage girls would get away with it, by just buying it off the shelf.

How does Plan B prevent AIDS, HPV and other incurables?

What health benefits does it have versus thinking about the consequences BEFORE you have sex.

So taking it 'after' shows responsibility?

What are the odds, as in the past, that this will play even more into adultery, silence in instances of rape (who wants to tell that) and as I said older men having sex with young girls.

What does this tell men? That they absolutely have to have a condom... or not to worry about it?

Who are we to play God or interfere with his purpose of creation, which is a gift from him?

As when RU486 claimed the lives of teenagers and young women... and everyone ignored it, this will be tested on women over the counter.

BTW, Marriage is a lot better than sleeping around for no purpose... under 18 or not.

When I get back from church, we can have a indepth discussion "re: the article", bring your medical links and FDA testing info.

Sorry it took so long, just got back in. First of all, you need to post the link Let's seek to figure out how it prevents attachment to the uterus, yet they can state it will not affect a fertilized egg already attached. Since it also alters the endometrium. (I don't know if you used Dura-Med"s site, but we can also get into why Barr Labs handed it to the subsidiary later).

Side Note: You should also know that it can never be proved with certainty that Plan B never affects a fertilized egg, because no human test exists (including the studies done with rats and mice before humans), that can determine whether fertilization has taken place. But thats something we can discuss either way.

This a necessary safety measure, considering the dangerous possible side effects of oral contraceptives, which include increased risk of developing liver tumors, liver cancer, breast cancer, heart attack, stroke or serious blood clots.[3] Such risks are even higher among women who smoke.[4]

In arguing for over-the-counter availability of emergency contraceptives, advocates rely on the fact that emergency contraceptives and oral contraceptives are made of virtually the same ingredients. In fact, Planned Parenthood has made available on their website the number of oral contraceptive pills needed of various brands for the “off label” use of those prescription pills as a form of emergency contraception.[5]

Although emergency contraceptive drugs such as Plan B contain the same hormones that compose standard oral contraceptives, emergency contraceptives contain a much higher dosage than oral contraceptives. Specifically, the dosage of prescription-only oral contraceptives equivalent to one dose of Plan B is twenty pills, followed by twenty more pills 12 hours later.[6] (Read that paragraph a few more times, then it becomes clearer... prescription for regular birth control pills though... must wreak havoc on the odds of those side effects...).

But over-the-counter availability of Plan B would remove the necessary safety precautions required for standard oral contraceptives, and would allow the widespread distribution of this powerful drug without any physician supervision, and without any checks on the frequency of use for any particular patient, despite the fact that Plan B’s manufacturer says it does not have any data on overdosage of this powerful drug.[7] (Hmmm... no data)

BTW, at the manufacturer's site way up there (go2planb), you'll note a lot of unknowns and studies that were not done... you will also note the recommendation for a follow up physical or pelvic exam, if there is any doubt concerning the general health or pregnancy status of any woman after taking Plan B... hmmm, wonder why... when you didn't need one to get Plan B?

You know, at the end of the day... this is about not having responsibility for bad choices, the responsibility that should be thought about before the situation presents itself. This isn't freedom... it's license. These are the same activists that state they don't want the gov't to tell them what they can do with their body... and it's private... yet come groveling for an out for their private decisions. I'm supposed to be happy that my teenagers can go out there and get their freak on and take a pill (scratch that, two pills... up to 72 hours, then 12 hours later),... but can I call DuraLabs for help when they get AIDs, or when they need a hysterectomy in their late 20's or 30s due to HPV, which cannot be detected until pregnancy... how about when they finally get married and can't have children... because we know there are overdosage issues that can't be controlled or addressed, because they haven't been studied. Oops, statue of limitations. BTW, all the guys will be happy to know they're still working hard on the male contraceptive... should be up the pike sometime soon. (Not kidding) Can't wait to see how that plays out. LOL

This reminds me of the 'ethical' embryonic stem cells, they claim removing one cell at the early eight cell stage will not hamper the embryo from progressing normally. I guess that one cell that has to divide many more times was there for no reason... why not take out seven? Meanwhile hundreds of cures with adult stem cells, zip with embryonic... in fact, deaths here at a hospital study (Alzheimers), because they couldn't control the rate of growth... hence tumors, death. Typical OC's contain an estriadiol molecule and a prostaglandin molecule. Plan B contians ONLY the prostaglandin. The protaglandin causes a build up in the uterine lining via the hormonal feedbakc mechanism, artificially stimulating the pituitary system.
