The Reformation was really about suppressing the laity not allowing it to speak up. The laity in Catholic countries overwhelmingly wanted to remain Catholic. Read Eamon Duffy's Stripping of the Altars and see how that happened in England.

Much of this started right after Vatican II. The heretics did not get what they wanted in the Council. Read the actual Vatican II documents and you'll be amazed at how traditional they are. For instance, saying the Mass in the vernacular was allowed for the first time, but only in very special circumstances and only with the formal permission of the bishop. Latin is still to be the norm at Mass! So, how did this change into Latin is almost never heard at Mass. It is the result of the commissions that were set up after the Council. The anti-Catholic "reformers" took over the commissions and, behind the scenes, created all the mischief that became known as Vatican II reforms. No one referred to the documents of Vatican II but, rather, to the "spirit" of Vatican II. These subverters of the truth molded public awareness to their own post-council ideas. Ever since, these insidious rascals have used clandestine methods to undermine the true teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Led by ex-nuns, "theology" professors and to a large extent homosexual priests, they have infiltrated almost every diocesan chancery and turned them into feminist new age, tree worshiping centers of subversion. The group "participation" sessions are a time worn method to guide the laity to right thinking. They stack the deck to allow for only their conclusions to be drawn and call this participation. It is actually a form of brainwashing. These people have been very successful. The vast majority of Catholics have little clue as to the real teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. This is the direct result of the underground subversion of the faith by these scoundrels, aided by the incredible cowardice of the clergy and, in particular, the bishops. I now understand how the entire Catholic Church in England went down under Henry VIII in a matter of mere months. God help us.
