Female Priest Defies the Catholic Church (barf alert)
LA Times ^ | 8/14/2006 | Robin Fields

Jane Via said she would probably cry and, sure enough, she did.

Midway through her homily at the rented San Diego church used by her upstart congregation, Via choked up, thanking the packed house of 100 worshipers for sustaining her over the last week.

Sunday's service was the second Mass that Via has led since her illicit ordination in Switzerland in June, and the first over which she has presided alone.

It also marked her congregation's first gathering since she met with San Diego Bishop Robert Brom to discuss the consequences of her ordination, which could ultimately include excommunication.

One minor point of correction: it already included excommunication the instant it happened.

I just [sarc]love how the msm lionizes these heretics. [/sarc]

Why not a female priest? Why does the CC treat women as second class citizens? Why do the Muslims?

The CC doesnot treat women as second class citizens.

Without straying from the Holy Scriptures can you show us, where Jesus chose a woman as an apostle?

In Sharia Law, if a Muslim Woman apostasies, death is the result.

In the Catholic Church, if a woman apostasies, she is hired by Boston College to teach Theology.

The CC does not treat women as second class citizens. Interesting that you would mention this on the vigal of The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

New Testament. He chose only men to be Apostles, even though Mary Magdalene was quite the babe

That's a loaded question.

This woman is an arrogant mess who has decided that she knows more than everyone else. She listens to her own mind. She is doomed. Those who follow her in her excommunication and arrogance are also doomed.

MSM lionizes those who are anti-Christian, especially anti-Catholic. Chrisitan absolutes/imperatives make their lives look mean, small, vapid, shallow, meaningless, empty and generally useless. Mocking, demeaning and diminishing Jesus' Church makes them feel better for a few seconds.
That is their goal: to feel better for a few seconds.

Frustrating, isn't it.

You claim the Catholic Church treats women like second class citizens because women aren't priests. The New Testament witnesses to the Truth Jesus chose no female priests (evn though, at that time, women priests were present in other communities).

So, you are, by logical extension, accusing Jesus of treating women like second class citizens

Other communities have female ministers. If women want to be a minister, there are plenty of other churches they can get a job

Why are you so opposed to Diversity?

There were women priests at the time of Jesus, just not in the Christian Church.

Nothing has changed. There are no women priests in a Christian Church today.

It's about time? What does "time" have to do with it? Are you afraid the Christian Church is opposed to the World?

Is the world the Way, the Truth, and the Life?

I ought clarify what I just said.

There are no women priests in a Christian church today.

That is to say, any community which has women priests in not a Church.

I just wanted to make that clarification so there would be no controversy

Your answer is the best way to deal with questions like that.

I'm I posting to a Lib? I think you can see where diversity leads.

Don't use the CC doctrine to muddy the water on what I believe Jesus would say or do. This all goes back to the fact the CC, in order to squelch other religions ( that they considered Pagan), decided only men were able to be priests.

I don't think there is a Catholic in the world who would try to use anything to muddy the water on what you think.

OTOH, what you think may or may not be in accord with what Jesus actually did or said, much less how He worked with and works with His bride, the Church.
