Lepers lose the ability to feel pain. Therefore, scratches fester, they get in a bad way, and eventually they lose limbs.
Pain is what tells us we have a physical problem we need to address.
Guilt is the spiritual analogue.
Sounds like unrealistic guilt to me. LOL!
