...."Not every mention of God in public is a breach to the wall of separation. Context matters," the Illinois Democrat said in remarks prepared for delivery to a conference of Call to Renewal, a faith-based movement to overcome poverty.
"It is doubtful that children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance feel oppressed or brainwashed as a consequence of muttering the phrase `under God,"' he said. "Having voluntary student prayer groups using school property to meet should not be a threat, any more than its use by the High School Republicans should threaten Democrats."

Obama said millions of Christians, Muslims and Jews have traveled similar religious paths, and that is why "we cannot abandon the field of religious discourse. ... In other words, if we don't reach out to evangelical Christians and other religious Americans and tell them what we stand for, Jerry Falwells and Pat Robertsons will continue to hold sway."

Obama coupled his advice with a warning. "Nothing is more transparent than inauthentic expressions of faith: the politicians who shows up at a black church around election time and claps off rhythm to the gospel choir."An apt description of the Democrats courting Christians in 2006...
Ann is thinking several moves ahead of these guys.
It'll be kinda difficult to get Evangelicals while touting the joys of abortion-on-demand. But they'll try it anyhow.

It's my understanding that he is, in fact, a man of faith. I won't question that, and there's plenty more issues to butt heads with him on. That being said, I hope the voters see through all these Democrats trying to court the Christian votes. By December, they will have forgotten that constituency.
Since the godless assume people of faith are stupid rubes they figure that if they lie to us then we'll easily fall for it. The fact that people of faith see through the false facade is lost on democrats, however.
By making us an offer they think we can't refuse...
Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory;
and he said to Him, "All these things I will give You, if You fall down and worship me."
- Matthew 4:8-9
If Hollywood ever makes "Say Anything Part II", Barack Hussein Obama should definitely get the John Cusack-lead role.
Good luck!
This guy is shrewd. Whether he believes it or not is anyone's guess - he's saying the right things. If the dems were smart they'd continue to push him and guys like Evan Bayh to the forefront and throw a blanket over Kerry, Clinton, et al.
LOL...I suppose the movie's theme song would be "In Your Lies".
CC&E
"Remember how Jesus said 'render unto Caesar' and remember the story of 'the widow's mite'?
"Okay then, you'll agree that Jesus was in favor of big government socialism, right?"
Well -- maybe not that ham-fisted.
For sure , and ignorance is destroying our people, Who knows about Taqiyya and kitman and Islam?
"It is doubtful that children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance feel oppressed or brainwashed as a consequence of muttering the phrase `under God,"' he said.
Sounds more like a charlatan than a man of faith with those comments.
Obama should know
"Nothing is more transparent than inauthentic expressions of faith: the politician who shows up at a black church around election time and claps off rhythm to the gospel choir."
I love Ronaldus Magnus, but years ago there was an old cable comedy show "Not Necessarily the News." It was like the Daily Show. Anyway, NNTN showed a lengthy clip of Nancy and President Reagan at a black church, amongst the choir. Nancy was clapping just fine, but the Prez could not stay in rhythm to save his life. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen on TV. Not because it was Reagan, just because it was funny!
My liberal, non Christian sister was telling me yesterday how much she dislikes Clinton and his wife and hasn't found a Democrat on a national level that she can support...so she voted for Bush twice.
We aren't buying it, Osama. Jimmy Carter kinda burned us on that one.
What authentic "expressions of faith" could the Liberals possibly show? They haven't a clue because they are neither authentic or people of faith.
