O God, come to my aid.
O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen. Alleluia.
This is an excellent moment for an examination of conscience. In a communal celebration of Compline, one of the penitential acts given in the Missal may be recited. |
A suitable hymn may be inserted at this point.
Psalm 15 (16) |
---|
The Lord, my inheritance |
Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. |
Preserve me, Lord, I put my hope in you. I have said to the Lord You are my Lord, in you alone is all my good. As for the holy and noble men of the land, in them is all my delight. But for those who run to alien gods, their sorrows are many. I will not share in their libations of blood. I will not speak their names. You, Lord, are my inheritance and my cup. You control my destiny, the lot marked out for me is of the best, my inheritance is all I could ask for. I will bless the Lord who gave me understanding; even in the night my heart will teach me wisdom. I will hold the Lord for ever in my sight: with him at my side I can never be shaken. Thus it is that my heart rejoices, heart and soul together; while my body rests in calm hope. You will not leave my soul in the underworld. You will not let your chosen one see decay. You will show me the paths of life, the fullness of joy before your face, and delights at your right hand until the end of time. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. |
Alleluia. Alleluia. Alleluia. |

Keep us safe, Lord, while we are awake, and guard us as we sleep, so that we can keep watch with Christ and rest in peace. Alleluia. | |
Now, Master, you let your servant go in peace. You have fulfilled your promise. My own eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all peoples. A light to bring the Gentiles from darkness; the glory of your people Israel. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. |
|
Keep us safe, Lord, while we are awake, and guard us as we sleep, so that we can keep watch with Christ and rest in peace. Alleluia. |
Prayer | |
---|---|
Let us pray. Lord our God, we are tired by the work of the day. Refresh us with peaceful sleep and, forever renewed by the help you give, let us always be dedicated to you in body and mind. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. |
May the almighty Lord grant us a quiet night and a perfect end. |

# | Douay-Rheims | Vulgate |
20 | And not for them only do I pray, but for them also who through their word shall believe in me.
21 | That they all may be one, as thou, Father, in me, and I in thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. | ut omnes unum sint sicut tu Pater in me et ego in te ut et ipsi in nobis unum sint ut mundus credat quia tu me misisti |
22 | And the glory which thou hast given me, I have given to them: that, they may be one, as we also are one.
23 | I in them, and thou in me: that they may be made perfect in one: and the world may know that thou hast sent me and hast loved them, as thou hast also loved me. | ego in eis et tu in me ut sint consummati in unum et cognoscat mundus quia tu me misisti et dilexisti eos sicut me dilexisti |
24 | Father, I will that where I am, they also whom thou hast given me may be with me: that they may see my glory which thou hast given me, because thou hast loved me before the creation of the world.
25 | Just Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee. And these have known that thou hast sent me.
26 | And I have made known thy name to them and will make it known: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
There's no need to be "Apprehensive" simply because this is your first trip outside the Continental United States.
As long as you are not travelling to volatile countries in the Middle East, Asia, South- Asia, South-East Asia, there is virtually nothing to fear.
All the same you need to be alert. That is the best advice, I or anyone can give you.
Moreover, you will be travelling with a group so you will be definitely much safer than if you were travelling alone.
Finally, I will say a prayer for you.
Here is a Link to the Official Web Site of the "Infant Jesus of Prague".
The Shrine to the Infant Jesus of Prague is situated within the precincts of Our Lady of Victory Church, Czech Republic
Check out their site before you leave.
http://www.karmel.at/prag-jesu/english/firsten.htm
The Cathedral is colocated with Prague Castle overlooking all of Prague. I believe the Infant of Prague Chapel is located at a different church.
Take a look at Post 46, where I have posted the Official Web Site of "The Infant Jesus of Prague" in the Czech Republic.
As, I had mentioned in that post-- This Shrine is situated within the precincts of the Church of Our Lady of Victory.
