My wife called them a secret society and she's a converted Catholic. But I'm in the process of unconverting her.

Contrast that with Markel, the -real Opus Dei member: a 48-year- old father of five who likes to golf, ski and fly-fish. He'll reluctantly see the film "because I have friends in the world who will ask, and I want to be able to talk intelligently about it."
Another of the 20 or so Opus Dei members in Colorado is Clare Chavez, 33.
Funny, they don't look like albinos...

Opus Dei is also attacked regularly by anti-Semites as an organization of Spanish
marranos (secret Jews) who are working EE-villy to Judaize the Catholic Church. Of course, any religion that recognizes the TaNa"KH (Hebrew Bible) as its own scripture is going to be somewhat "Judaized" by its very nature (perhaps anti-Semites would like to see it "de-canonized?").
Since the whole purpose of the Jewish religion is to saturate the lives of every single Jewish man, woman, and child with holiness (Orthodox Judaism possesses no "clergy" in the classic sense) then I suppose it is somewhat Jewish in outlook.
