It's over: Henry Parsley has got serious Episcopal game
Midwest Conservative Journal ^ | 5/11/2006 | Christopher Johnson

Henry Parsley, leading contender for ECUSA Presiding Bishop, has got serious Episcopal game:

TLC: As Presiding Bishop, how would you respond to the recommendations of the Windsor Report? How important, in your opinion, are the Episcopal Church’s ties to the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Anglican Communion?

Bishop Parsley: I am steadfastly committed to the life of the Anglican Communion and the vital part of our church in it. The Episcopal Church is a portion of the one holy catholic Church, and the Anglican Communion embodies our catholicity. Our ties to the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Communion are essential and life-giving. The mutual ministry and bonds of affection we share in the Communion enable us to be more fully the body of Christ in the world and our Anglican partnerships in mission are a source of blessing and strength.

The Windsor Report has called us to renew our commitment to the Anglican Communion and explore ways to enhance our life together that we may be more unified and vital in mission. It faithfully describes our Anglican ecclesiology and invites us to renew our commitment to the consultative process, to our tradition of unity in diversity, and to mutual respect and interdependence. I heartily support the Windsor process toward healing and reconciliation, as we and the other provinces respond to the report’s recommendations.

Should I be called to be Presiding Bishop, I would participate fully in the Windsor process and enable our church to do so. It would be especially important to nourish personally our Anglican relationships and to help us have an abiding commitment to Jesus’ spirit of humility and forgiveness with one another.

Meaning: absolutely nothing.  You just can't teach that sort of thing.  Ballgame, thanks for playing.  Fit the man for the Big Miter right now.

Traditional Anglican ping, continued in memory of its founder Arlin Adams.

FReepmail sionnsar if you want on or off this moderately high-volume ping list (typically 3-9 pings/day).
This list is pinged by sionnsar, Huber and newheart.

What was that? Written by the Nixon speech-writer program I saw once upon a time? It strung a bunch of meaningless words together that meant absolutely nothing. It was impossible to determine what was said but you thought it said something, you just couldn't quite discern exactly what. Exactly as here.

Bravo. This guy is apparently well suited for the position.

Yikes. I need to find a new Church.

Door's always open over here in Rome.

I have been pleasantly surprised by our new parish. Most of the stuff the Episcopalians used to say about the Catholics was completely untrue (why am I not surprised? So much of the other stuff they said turned out to be untrue as well.)

And the music wasn't as bad as people claimed it would be, either. Our choirmaster loves the old English composers, so I feel like I brought "home" with me . . .

From a link you offered: " And ECUSA liberals should be satisfied with how harsh he's been with orthodox Episcopalians. They know that Parsley won't get in their way." How very sad.

More Episcobabble.

What I really like about the church I go to now that I've left ECUSA is that both the ministers and the congregation speak everyday English.

I'm with kaehurowing here. I find things much more understandable ever since I landed in a Continuing church...
