The Betting Window Is Open [election of traditionalist Dena Harrison to episcopate]

Scenario.  The Episcopal Diocese of San Francisco California elects a homosexual bishop on Saturday.  His/her election is approved at GenCon.  This woman's is not:

The Diocese of Texas has elected a woman priest to be its suffragan bishop. The April 29 election of the Ven Dena Harrison, Archdeacon of Texas, marks the first election of a traditionalist woman priest to the episcopate in the US. A Texas native, Bishop-elect Harrison served as a parish priest in the diocese from 1988 to 2000, when she was appointed canon to the ordinary (assistant) to Bishop Don Wimberly. In 2003 Bishop Wimberly named her Archdeacon and canon for ministry for the diocese.

Asked at a candidate’s forum before the election, whether she supported the consecration of homosexual priests to the episcopate, Archdeacon Harrison said she did not. She also stated she would not support the ordination of non-celibate homosexuals to the ministry and expressed disapproval for the actions of the 74th General Convention in 2003 in affirming the election of Gene Robinson.

As a delegate to the 2003 Convention, Archdeacon Harrison voted against affirming Bishop Robinson’s election. Her election must be affirmed by the June 10-21 meeting of General Convention in Columbus, Ohio, before she can be consecrated.

I don't really think ECUSA liberals would be that stupid.  Not unless they wanted to make Texas a Network diocese and make the momentum for an immediate split completely unstoppable.  Were things to go down in this way, the Network bishops and delegations along with any other orthodox Episcopalians attending couldn't possibly remain in the room and maintain any credibility at all.

[I'm not sure "traditionalist" is exactly the right word here, but no doubt we'll hear more about that from the usual Anglican bloggers. --sionnsar]

The traditionalist Bishops have credibility? And what is traditional about a woman who claims to be a Bishop?

You're right. A few years ago, it was "radical" to ordain female "priests". Now they're considered "conservative". What a joke my old Church has become.
