I think it's the only answer. Any other way seems to be saying that Satan is more powerful than God.
That's a nice idea of your religious teacher--that in the hereafter ignorant people will be given a 2nd chance.
However, I'd like to see any biblical support for it.
My way of understanding this, is that salvation is in a Person, Jesus, NOT an intellectual system. Jesus is more righteous, loving and just than we can imagine--and He will deal rightly with those who've never heard the good news of His coming.
Even though I don't understand how, I trust the character of my Lord.
Yes, I do also in my heart, but when I asked some of my other friends he said those people will go to hell. Difficult for me to accept

They had the law written on their hearts before it was preached to them.

God's people will be called out prior to the end

I agree -- Christ is the ONLY way. Other people can be good, their philosophy may be more akin to Christianity without the tag, but worshipping any other "god" besides Christ leads no where.
