I Am Liberal, Hear Me Roar - The Consultation [ECUSA]
Drell's Descants ^ | 4/17/2006 | Brad Drell

Posted on 04/18/2006 12:05:19 PM PDT by sionnsar

The Consultation is made up of the following groups:

Integrity
Episcopal Urban Caucus
Episcopal Peace Fellowship
Episcopal Women’s Caucus
Union of Black Episcopalians
Episcopal Ecological Network

Episcopal Church Publishing Company
Episcopal Network for Economic Justice
Episcopal Asiamerica Ministry Advocates
Associated Parishes for Liturgy and Mission (Check this out; you’d be surprised who is a member, including the Bishop of Georgia.)
Province 8 Native American Ministries Network

The group wants to continue the radical reformation of the church by pushing the gay agenda, turning our liturgy upside down, get the Episcopal Church out of the marriage business (damn breeders), fight the war on Iraq, help kids burn their selective service cards, reallocate funds in the church pension plan so late bloomer female priests get bigger retirements (a good old money grab), support unions, and give a big hunk of money to liberals all in the name of slavery reparations.

Check it out.

Well, that tells me there is something at the core of the Anglican church that grew very rotten over many decades.

Why do Anglicans and Catholics support a church structure that has become corrupt? Are not Christians to be loyal to Christ and not some bureaucratic institution that once claimed to follow Him?

Why are some Christians such sloppy thinkers that they think there's any comparison between the two situations?

Well, I let the Anglicans defend themselves. However many Anglicans are trying to be Loyal to Christ by being loyal to the Church as they understand it and by taking appropriate measures in my view.
As to to the Catholic Church. I am not sure by what you mean by corruption. We have gone through a trying time with the Abuse scandels but reform has and is being had. The Church is a mystery. There is the mystery of what our current Pope has called a unholy holiness. History has shown us from the time that God has used man to spread his word that its been a messy affair. How many times have the very heros of our faith failed him but yet God still kept his promises to his people. He did so for the Jews and I believe he does so for the RCC.

Hey, don't lump is catholics in with the pagan ECUSA. My Roman Catholic parish is wonderful, the priest is a gem and our bishop is young, healthy, not gay and is very conservative. Our "church structure" better educates more inner city kids than any charter or public school or sectarian private school. Our catholic outreach services are models of perfection. Catholic social justice keeps the church honest.

Most protestants aren't aware of the extensive social welfare network supported by hte Roman catholic "church structure".

As a former Anglican - I can tell you that catholics ante-up and support their parishes, financially, much more than any conservative or liberal protestant denomination. So please so lump that catholics in with the ECUSA. It's a crime.

Whoa! Talk about yoked with an unbeliever! You can't know much about the Catholics, or you wouldn't mention them in the same breath as those heretic Anglicans . . .

. . . speaking as a FORMER ECUSA member and CURRENT Catholic of course. There's about as big a difference as there can be, otherwise we wouldn't have bothered to swim the Tiber . . .
