If you're going to allow the sort of dreck that's been posted about the Catholic Church in the last 48 hours, it is unrealistic to expect that those posting it will not be taken to task for their motives. And laughed at. Which is what my post did.
If someone posted a thread about Bush being under the control of a satanic society, the poster would be pilloried mercilessly, likely banned and the thread yanked. I seriously doubt that he or she would be afforded protection from "personal attacks" by the Mods and the thread labeled a "pinata".
On the contrary, the Mods would be the first in line with the flame thrower.
This sort of thing falls under the category of "baiting", in my opinion. It's ridiculous to throw up your hands in self-righteous indignation and cry "personal attack" over one reply. The whole darn thread needs to go in the dumpster.
