This coming summer, we will finally introduce the St. Michael's Conference to Texas and surrounding states in the form of St. Michael's Conference Southwest. Due to the immense work of Charles Warnky and Father Chris Cantrell, we have hit the ground running, and will start the conference on June 4th, Whitsunday.
St. Michael's Conference has been described as Anglo-Catholic Boot Camp for youth. It includes daily Solemn Mass (boys in ties, girls in skirts), the Divine Offices, and rigorous academic classwork. The Michaelites, as they are called, are encouraged to make their confessions and begin a deep life of devotion to Our Lord in the Sacraments and the Church. In short, it is not "church camp." It is thorn in the side of Satan and the Angel's of Hell. Secularism, relativism, and the infectious nihilism of youth culture are attempting to claim our youth. St. Michael's Conference is a way to snatch youth from their grip.
I will be teaching two classes - The Sanctity of Life and Incarnation 101, which will use Saint Athanasius' On the Incarnation as a required text. If you know anyone who would be interested in attending the St. Michael's Conference do refer them to the conference website, and pray for God's blessing upon this work.
Having attended the "Mere Anglicanism" conference in Charleston, it's fascinating to me to see the unity between the Anglo-Catholics and Evangelicals, over the apostasy in the ECUSA. May such unity continue and grow!
