"After all, she wants to learn to kayak. Obviously a cool dude-er--person. Isn't the homosexual candidate in California also a kayaker? What is up wid dis?
Nothing, I hope!! I've got two kayaks on racks in the garage..."
My wife was on my back for kayaks for three years. She says the speed boat is too fast. I told her no 'cause they are nothing more than speed bumps on the lake and generally operated by tree huggers and limp wrists. Finally I relented and got her one. Four days later I got one...and have developed a strange affinity for the color pink!
I confess I did some sea kayaking myself once upon a time. It sure was good exercise. My kids loved it too.
Well, ours are blue... but we really enjoy them. There's nothing quite like a quiet paddle about the lake. Haven't done an Eskimo roll since '89 or so, though... then again, haven't needed to. *\;-)
Have been considering taking a local baidarka construction class. (The baidarkas, Aleutian kayaks, are the most advanced of the native kayaks -- amazingly strong and light, and the most seaworthy.)
