Both sides of the issue - both sides burnt books and killed people. Which side is better? The Protestants who burnt books and killed people or the Catholics who burnt books and killed people?
Neither side is better or above the other. Both sides are guilty. Can we learn from our past and our sins or is one side still more right? How do we judge for sure, if the only thing we can do is read "slanted history?" We can't time travel. We can only read accounts.
HOW TO REACT TO OUR PAST CHRISTIAN ROOTS:
A. Hate all non-Catholics.
B. Hate all Catholics.
C. Attempt to find similarities and see that both sides have something to gain from the other. Then work together toward the truth.
D. Continue to prove that one side is better than the other because they killed 523 less people (as accounted in a certain version of history).
Are there any other ways to react that are better than A through D? How do you feel you personally react and what does it mean to your soul and those around you (on both sides of the issue)?

(I’m so thankful for the active obedience of Christ. No hope without it. (Machen on his deathbed.)
