In mid April, Pope Benedict XVI will hold his first meeting with the Capidicasterio that is to say, the heads of the different dicasteries or offices at the Vatican
John Paul II made these meetings to happen on a yearly basis. The Pontiff would select a matter of special interest and listen what the heads of Roman curia had to say. The Pope would then reserve the right to act or not upon the recommendations made by his senior staff.
Pope Benedict intends to follow this same scheme. And he has already sent a letter to all capidicasterio announcing the matter he would like to discuss: the canonical and spiritual steps to bring back to the Catholic Church the Society of St. Pius X; a.k.a. the Lefebvrists.
Yet one more step in a positive direction.
