Why the Church of England is dying and needs to die much faster, Reason #893,461:
An Anglican dean has defended the sister of Jack Straw after complaints about her "spiritual dancing" at his cathedral.
The Very Rev John Davies, Dean of Brecon Cathedral, admitted that traditionalists had been angry that her "ritual dances" were in the pagan tradition and were "dishonouring God". But he was satisfied that Suzy Straw was "not doing anything perverse".
The Foreign Secretarys sister leads an alternative way of life that involves experience in massage, a variety of dance forms, Qi Gong and Yoga.
The event at Brecon was part of a project entitled "Encircling the Land with Sacred Dance", in which she leads groups in sacred dancing at each full moon at 12 places around the country that "correspond to the zodiacal positions in the landscape temple of Britain". Other cathedrals were used.
A letter of complaint to Mr Davies read: "The dedication of the evening was... to Mother Earth and the masters. [Miss Straw] told me she believes in reincarnation, astrology and magic.
"It is dishonouring to God to hold this event in a cathedral. It was also quite a shock to see one of your clerics joining in the dance."
In response, Davies retired the Completely Missing the Damned Point trophy.
Mr Davies said: "If I was to check out the Christian credentials of everybody who came to the cathedral to play in an orchestra or to sing in a choir, it would be like the Thought Police."
Why don't they just drop the sham and call it Unitarianism?
Aren't those "Star Wars" characters? Seriously peculiar stuff!
It was only a matter of time before the lunatics banded together. No use trying to stop their dance - let them dance right into hell.
Isn't "Episcopaganism" the study of this guy?:
Sorry, I don't recognize him, although his face is familiar.
Oh, now I get it! Funny!
Joe Piscopo isn't someone I think about very often :-).
Who's that? Shepard Smith?
I think he has had as much plastic surgery as John Kerry
I'm guessing that this was the actual quote:
Mr Davies said: "If I was, like, to check out the Christian credentials of everybody who came to the cathedral to play in an orchestra or to sing in a choir, it would be like the Thought Police, dude."
