Are you travelling for Christmas to be with relatives and loved ones?
Do you feel uncomfortable that the old church in which you were raised has become apostate or heretical?
Do your relatives or loved ones relatively attend church at all?
Are you going to be in one of the culturally "elite" parts of the country (a.k.a. "blue states")for Christmas?
Do you seek a reverent liturgy?
Do you need a good church for Christmas while travelling?
Free Republic can help us solve this dilemma. Please use this thread to post recommendations and requests for FReeper recommended Christmas services throughout the country!
In our case, we will be in Northern Westchester/Southern Putnam County, NY for Christmas. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good theologically orthodox liturgical service in the area? Anglican, Catholic or Eastern Orthodox would all be fine.
Well, as long as they don't cancel Sunday services on Easter.
If the chocolate bunnies overwhelm us, I'll be disappointed.
Taken From Veggie Tales' Rack, Shack, and Benny:
"The bunny,
the bunny -
whoa, i ate the bunny.
I didn't eat my soup or my bread
just the bunny.
The bunny,
the bunny -
oh i love the bunny!
But now i feel real sick in the head from the bunny."
To all: sorry for the duplicate posts. It's a handheld issue!
For traditional Anglican in the Westchester Co. area, try St. Elizabeth's in Tuxedo, NY. Here's a link. http://acahome.org/dne/elizabeth/index.htm

These are very conservative, Reformed Presbyterian Churches. Small congregations and fantastic preaching.
If anyone is going to visit these areas let me know and I'll hook you up. Two of them are at about 9:00 am and one meets at 1:00 pm.
Good thread

I almost bought a pound of Starbuck's Christmas blend, but since I purchased a coffee roaster of my own this past year, I have come up with my own blend of green beans for roasting this Christmas:
1/3 Wet-processed Ethiopian Harrar; 1/3 El Salvador Cup of Excellence; 1/3 Kenyan AA.
And to you a highly caffeinated

Kenyan AA is one of God's great gifts to mankind...
I agree.
I've decided after much tasting that day in and day out the African coffees are better than the rest.
I also like Sumatran coffees. But Columbian is for woosies...
LOL, that's one of my favorites, once I have that song in my head it stays there all day!
We are agreed I believe in coffees! My assessment exactly.
I haven't tried Jamacian Blue Mountain yet...my intentions were good, but I have yet to get there.
WE do not buy preground anything at my house, but I haven't gone as far to do roasting like other people I know...
Thank you for your kind offer.
I think we need a coffee corner on FR. :>)
I can see it now, the whole bean roast your own versus the no-name can of ground "coffee" heathens! LOL.
