I am continually amazed (and the older I get, amused) at the absolutely narrow-minded, pinch-mouthed viewpoints that the old ladies on this board have toward anybody that has decided on a life not exactly like their own, right down to the pattern on the wallpaper and the rugs on the floor. Are y'all so terrified that your decision to have children is wrong, that you can only be happy if you've forced everyone on earth to do as you do? Or is it merely that you're jealous and envious of people who can eat a meal without anybody screaming and kicking and throwing food?
There are many many mansions in our Father's house, and I am sure there are plenty of places for people whose calling is to be an Auntie (or Great-Aunt), a cousin, a Godmother or a friend to children to whom they have not given birth. And judging by the stressed out, miserable people with whom I work, those who choose to have a full time career are far better off without any children, and so are their bosses. It wasn't the Mommies who spent the last week packing up 93 people to move off the floor to another floor at our office. It was the childless and the single toting those barges and lifting those bales. If we'd had to depend on Mommy to get the work done, it would not have been done.
Enjoy your children and your chosen lifestyle and God bless you all. But don't get up on your high horse and shriek at those who have made a different decision. We're not jeering and mocking at you.
For people who are so selfish that they can't be bothered to buy a table for kids to do homework?
For people who waste their lives lavishing their love on their dogs, instead of raising up eternal souls to glorify God in heaven?
But forget about any sort of eternal perspective -- where do you think a society that doesn't produce children is headed? Japan is currently producing kids at the rate of about 1.3 children per woman. That's a recipe for extinction.

You poor baby. Don't scream and kick and throw food, now, okay?
