The devout fortunately are having children at a very high rate. They seem to be having abortions at a very high rate also:
Women identifying themselves as Protestants obtain 37.4% of all abortions in the U.S.; Catholic women account for 31.3%, Jewish women account for 1.3%, and women with no religious affiliation obtain 23.7% of all abortions. 18% of all abortions are performed on women who identify themselves as "Born-again/Evangelical".

They seem to be having abortions at a very high rate also ... Women identifying themselves How do you conclude that someone who self-identifies as Protestant/Catholic/Evangelical is necessarily devout?

Black women have a disproportionate number of abortions, so its only natural that there are more protestants/born agains than one would think. Catholics make up about 25% of the population, yet 31.6% of abortions. I wonder if that stat includes Puerto Rico, which has the highest abortion rate of any U.S. state or territory.
