In the name of Jesus, I have Baptized a dying person that I was alone with. I think that is how far a regular person can go.I hope you baptized him "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit", not in the name "of Jesus". Baptism in the name of Christ alone is invalid.
