There are four American Girl Dolls in our home, and a couple of them have been to doll hospital. Licorice the cat is on someone’s special list to come home to play with Coconut.
Not one more American Girl item enters our home until American Girl Company and its owners sever all ties with Girls Inc. I spend a lot of time looking for toys that work with my family’s values. No Barbies or Bratz in our house. No belly shirts… not any trash, just good well-made toys.
Abortion is a difficult issue. Traditional parents and children run into the common culture’s perspective all the time. We do not need it shoved in our faces by a company that we had grown to trust to provide a more traditional perspective on the world. Do we ask you to be pro-life? No. However, don’t shove abortion in our faces or the faces of our children. I spoke with Hanna Anderson of the baby clothing catalog shortly after she had he company support pro-abortion work by letting her office be used a phone bank. She did not initially understand how gruesome it was to have a baby clothes manufacturer and distributor support the killing of some babies…but of course, not all babies. She changed her policies when she realized that her customer base was appalled.
You too, will need to back way down and apologize to your customers if you want to keep the traditional and conservative people who have supported your business thus far.
