For a "godless atheist," you come across as reasonable, tolerant, and—dare I say it—Christian in your attitude toward others.

Thanks. Our behavior is taught to us by our parents at a very young age, not by a church. Behavior is not religion-based, in my experience; it is a cultural thing.

What is considered "Christian" behavior is common among most cultures, regardless of religion. It's independent. And, as here, behavior is an individual quality, rather than being uniform throughout the culture.

I certainly behave poorly at times, although I do try not to. That's about the best any of us can do, I suppose.

Political Correctness Kills!!

What does it take?

Watching this ongoing series of suicidal events in America from abroad has become a terribly sad affair.

But where are the hurricanes? Saudi Arabia ought to literally be "awash" in hurricanes if toadying up to Allah gets you a hurricane.

Whole big bunch of my ancestors were still into shamanism and the worship of the 5 principal dieties until about 1811 then they fell into the hands of the Christian missionaries and fled to America.

What was that you were saying about the "history of their faith"?

What you are missing is an understanding of the etymology of the word "Islam".

Even to those with little knowledge of Semitic languages, it's obvious that the "slam" part has the same root origin as "salem". That word, BTW, is part of the name of the City of Peace, that is "Jerusalem".

We are kind of stuck with the words we get, eh? Live with it.

Judgement comes in many forms

The Arab lands are so backwards, that is surely a judgement.

get it yet?

They are still waiting on the hurricanes. But, there's this problem with the Arab Christians in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon. Why is God (your God) punishing them too?

You capitalize on single events, not the lesson learned.

People like that who refuse to think are hardest to teach

Here's the deal ~ you want to preach a very narrow doctrine that excludes even the Prophets from salvation.

Matt 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Mark 8:35 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Luke 9:24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

Luke 17:33 Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

part has the same root origin as "salem". That word, BTW, is part of the name of the City of Peace, that is "Jerusalem".

I'm afraid you are in error to associate the word Islam with the word Salem or Jerusalem.

The word Islam is Arabic and describes the religion that came seven centuries after Christ.

It means to place yourself in submission to another.

It has no ties to Jerusalem as does the Hebrew word Salem, which was recorded several thousand years before the word Islam came into existence.

In Arabic, Islām from the root 'slm' (silm), to be in peaceful submission; to surrender; to obey; peace; Islam literally meaning "The active willful surrender, submission, obedience, in purity to the will of another (Allah) in complete peace." (understood as submission to God) and is described as a dīn, meaning "way of life" and/or "religion." Etymologically, it is derived from the same root as, for example, Salām meaning "peace" (also a common salutation).

Salem is Hebrew and means peaceful.

Strong's Greek and Hebrew Definitions

שׁלם shâlêm shaw-lame'

The same as H8003; peaceful; Shalem, an early name of Jerusalem: - Salem.

No, if they were Prophets, they have Salvation already.

IF they were Prophets, that is...

Hmmmm ~ you mean to tell me the Semitic languages have no relationship to each other and do not share a basic core vocabulary?

I believe you are sadly mistaken. Hebrew, Aramaic, Syro-Aramaic, Arabic and some other languages in the Middle East are exceedingly closely related, and they do share words.

Even English shares words with Arabic.

The Prophets would include Adam, Noah, Abraham ~ and so forth. Your standard would exclude them from salvation.
