We're going to a private showing tomorrow morning. Will let you know my opinion, if you're interested.

Please, yes.

Also, if you could compare it to some other recent movies as far as quality of acting, etc, it would be good.

I'm curious to see how much appeal it will have to people outisde of church circles.

I'm interested in your take also. I remember well the "comic book" version of the book that was put out when I was in elementary school.

I would like to know more about this. We've read several books about this incident.

To all who asked about my opinion of the movie that will be released this January. I saw it, along with about 195 others this morning in an Overland Park, KS theater.

I predict that this will be popular movie for many reasons: it certainly ranks up there with it's cinematography, action, story and for believers, an extremely well done movie, the kind we remember seeing Hollywood do in the past. No one will be turned off because the movie lacks the best writing, directing, acting and editing that professionals do so very, very well, when the very best contribute.

The scenes are visually captivating and deserve to be seen for that reason alone, for those of us who are into visual highs. The action and drama takes a back seat to no one. Anyone who really likes a fast moving. physically challenging movie will certainly like this one. A number of young guys really liked it as well, although I like Chuck Norris, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne flicks for the action, so I'm no slouch in that area either. I love mysteries and since I thought I already knew the story, I wasn't sure how much I would be drawn into the story line. I began to find myself wondering about these families, what happened to them after their fathers, brothers and dads were killed by the Waodani people and was really drawn into the characters of Nate Saint (and son Steve).

This story is really written from the view of the Waodani people and main character, Mincayani(when they speak, there are subtitles but they are very easy to read and the dialog is simple and easily followed.) Mincayni is physically a magnificent guy so the ladies will like him, even though he is Nate's killer. Actually, all of the people who acted the role of the Waodanis were good actors as well.

I cannot predict how it will do at the box office but if it goes as well as it did this morning, it will be a big hit. It will be one of the greatest sources of those who wish to reach out to our unsaved friends, family and coworkers, who regularly go to the movies and steer away from heavily religious themes.

Mart mentioned that we are the first to view this movie and it hasn't even been seen by his own family in Oklahoma City but would be this weekend. What a story to find it's way to the box office and the way that it did is truly amazing - please pray for it.

It was WONDERFUL!

The man shown in the photo played the part of Mincayani (I predict this movie will advance his career), the Waodani who killed Nate Saint.

The yellow plane, was the plane that Nate Saint flew trying to find the Waodani tribe and finally making contact with them, of course resulting in his death. Nate had made a small replica of his plane, along with his son, Steve. Nate, with Steve's blessing, takes the plane with him to give to the Waodani tribe, along with other gifts.

The moving is really a beautiful film. I can't remember exactly where it was filmed but it was to represent the Equadorian rain forest.

Strangely, I was just in Equador a year ago this past July, on a short term mission. I didn't get to go into the rain forest area at all. This film makes me want to see it now.

Equador is a very beautiful country and is also so very rich in natural resources but the people are dirt poor and many mountain people who have come to Quito to earn some money will probably starve to death, due to their corrupt government.

Very cool. How were you so lucky to see it? I've barely read anything about it...

Thanks for asking. A pastor at my church apparently knows Mart Green, who had a very big hand in getting this movie made. Mart stressed that he has absolutely no talent for putting things like this together but as so very many people had a desire to see the story told to the masses, wound up finding all of the right people to do a first rate job. This movie is all of that and much more!

Disney, realized how much they and other studios lost out on $$$ to be made by not distributing "The Passion of The Christ" that they jumped at the chance to distribute this one but had absolutely no hand in anything else. This movie will be well publicized with lots of advance trailers shown in theaters and on TV before it's outing in early January. Look for it soon at a movie theater near you.

I am going to see the movie tomorrow. Do you remember how long it is? I may have to leave before it is over to get my son from school and I am trying to plan accordingly. Thank you in advance for your time answering me.

As far as I remember (I did see it in September so time of running might be off) it ran a little over 1-1/2 hrs.
