Dear Praying Friend,
Today, President Bush returns to Washington to monitor relief efforts for victims of Hurricane Katrina. Speaking this morning in San Diego he called Americans to prayer saying, "The good folks in Louisiana and Mississippi and Alabama and other affected areas are going to need the help and compassion and prayers of our fellow citizens." He urged Americans who wish to help to "get in touch with the Salvation Army."
I add my urging to that of the President, asking all Presidential Prayer Team members to pray in the wake of this incredible disaster. As people who pray, we are uniquely poised to impact our nation. Please, join me in praying and let us together watch as God powerfully provides. Here are some prayer points to help:
If you are impacted in some way by the hurricane and want to post a specific prayer request, or, if you have seen an answer to prayer during the storm or its aftermath, we invite you to post your comments HERE. Watch The Presidential Prayer Team website for these comments.
Thank you for your prayers. Please, forward this email to someone else who will pray. Together let us cover the Gulf Coast and the nation with our prayers.
Sincerely,
John Lind President/CEO

If you want on/off my prayer ping list, please let me know. All requests happily honored.
Ping to your prayer list please. God speed your vital work.
This tragedy continues to seemingly get worse. May the Lord help and protet the victims.
I also pray that the criminals using this situation for their gain and hampering relief and evacuation efforts get caught and punished.
My brother Matt is still unheard from since Monday, when he called our Mom to say that he was fine, but his house was starting to flood just a little (about 10 blocks from the Quarter). We are hoping he is out of N.O. by now and hoping he gets to Houston so we can drive over from Oklahoma to get him. Please pray for my mother who is sick with worry right now, but is strong in her faith that he will be home soon.
I join in prayer for all those who are suffering from this!
Please notify me via FReepmail if you would like to be added to or taken off the Prayer Ping List.

Prayers for your mom, may her heart's most fervent desire be granted soon. May her worry be for naught, as Matt is returned safely home. May you feel the Lord's comfort now.
Prayers continue for all affected by this storm. May God shine down upon them, providing comfort and strength and sustenance. Blessings for the tireless and selfless rescue workers, and ordinary citizens who help in any capacity.
May those who are lawbreaking for personal gain seek, instead, to help others and return to lawfulness and calm.
And may we, as a nation, remember these people long after the media coverage stops. They will need our prayers for a long time to come. And may we all be there to provide them.
Prayers offered up for relief efforts and the cessation of violence and looting.
The Lord be merciful in Your chastisement
