Prayers for all those who will be in the path of this hurricane, particularly in New Orleans.
I have plane tickets with New Orleans as the destination next weekend.
I doubt this trip will be happening now...

We offer up our prayers for our friend, Askel5 and trust she is well.

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, Virgin most powerful and Mirror of Justice, who offered yourself totally to God for the perfect accomplishment of His Holy Will, make us generous in sacrifice. We have recourse to you to obtain the graces we need, especially your motherly protection for your faithful children in the City of New Orleans. Recollect the help you obtained for them when their city was threatened by fire and by war, and come again to their aid. O Mary, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, heavenly protectress of souls devoted to your Divine Son, deign to bless us each day of our mortal pilgrimage, cast upon us your eyes of mercy, and after our exile, show unto us Jesus, your Son and our Brother. Amen.
Our Lady of Prompt Succor, hasten to help us. (Three times.)
Our wonderful young Parochial Vicar invoked Our Lady of Prompt Succor today at the end of the Prayers of the People, reminded her of her past kindnesses to the people of New Orleans, and implored her to help them again. And the people said "AMEN!" as loudly as we could.

Thanks y'all,
I'm 1 hour north of the Big Easy, and am directly in the path. Woo-hoo! We are in very high elevation country but are quite worried about the winds and potential tornado's. They say it will be a cat 4 by the time it reaches my area.
We are boarded up and are praying hard. Power company expects power to be off 1 week maybe much longer. Hopefully it won't be that long and will log on when I am able.
Please continue praying for everyone in this region.

I miss them even without hurricanes....
May be we should send them a care package?
By the way, Mr. Moderator, any chance to reinstate Askel now that her persona got so spectacularly washed in the purifying waters of Katherine?
