We have recourse to you to obtain the graces we need, especially your motherly protection for your faithful children in the City of New Orleans. Recollect the help you obtained for them when their city was threatened by fire and by war, and come again to their aid. Our wonderful young Parochial Vicar invoked Our Lady of Prompt Succor today at the end of the Prayers of the People, reminded her of her past kindnesses to the people of New Orleans, and implored her to help them again. And the people said "AMEN!" as loudly as we could.
